Our client, a global telecoms company, requires a Third Line Support Operative to join an existing team who resolve support requests from the second l
ne support teams. Responsibilities will include: Resolve support requests through technical expertise and liaising with appropriate 3rd parties. Performing root cause analysis to proactively arrest repetition of calls of the same type, identifying any systems / procedural failures. Prepare technical information to be used by 1st / 2nd line support teams in aiding problem resolution. Manage a number of "projects" and "areas of speciality" such as new product introductions; service enhancements; testing and trialling. The successful applicant will have knowledge of ADSL principles and fault diagnosis / resolution. Experience of remote ADSL support tools. An understanding of GSM Networks including fault diagnosis. Awareness of GPRS / HSDPA / CSD / UMTS. MMS / SMS / WAP - Configuration and trouble shooting. LAN / WAN setup, configuration and troubleshooting. A good understanding of billing and provisioning systems. An understanding of IPTV and TCP/IP networking. Knowledge of VoIP. WIFI configuration and troubleshooting. General IT knowledge (Microsoft Office). Applicants must also be excellent communicators, both written and verbally, and have excellent organisational skills. Microsoft and Cisco certification is desirable but not essential. This is a contract vacancy to be based in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne. Please send CV in the first instance.
