A fantastic opportunity has arisen for Thermodynamics Specialist to join the Power division of one of the world leaders in transport and energy infrastructure.
The Power Division, based in Switzerland, is a large and well-established company specialising in electricity generation equipment and services and is one of the worlds leading suppliers in the field of power station construction.
By joining the Thermodynamics team, based in the beautiful town of Baden, Switzerland, you will be given support for the continuous development of your own professional expertise and understanding.
As a Thermodynamics Specialist, reporting to the Head of the Thermodynamics Department, you will ensure the comprehensive and correct measurement and evaluation of the thermodynamic behavior of steam turbines, implementing the evaluation results into steam turbine performance models. You will also contribute to the development and maintenance of databases, monitor the performance of all steam turbines and develop and maintain model calibration factors.
Qualified to degree level in mechanical engineering, process engineering, physics, or an equivalent discipline, you will have a thorough knowledge of applied thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and steam power plant components and operation (combined cycle, conventional and nuclear). You will also have an in-depth understanding of measurement instrumentation, technology and techniques and of evaluation methods. In addition you will have good MS Office skills and a basic understanding of statistical methods, turbine aerodynamics, and turbine design. An open-minded, team-oriented, decisive individual with excellent analytical and planning skills, you will have proven communication and management capabilities
German language classes will be on offer.
