Thermal Engineering Team Leader
To manage a team of Thermal Engineer and Specialists
Interface with various in house Design Teams
To develop tools and methods for thermal analysis of fuel systems.
Areas to be modelled include:
Bulk fuel and tank ullage temperature
Fuel Tank stratisfication
Temperature of fuel system components and interfaces to structural elements
Flammability analysis and supporting analysis
To develop thermal models of fuel systems for the evaluation of in-service aircraft and of new civil and military designs
Be customer focused and achieve project objectives and milestones
Produce technical reports to a high standard
Be aware of the overall engineering requirements of the Fluids Department.
Profile
The jobholder will be a member of the Fluids Department and operate within the Inerting and Thermal.
Required Qualifications and Background
Degree or equivalent qualification in mechanical/aerospace engineering, with particular specialisation in thermal analysis and design.
Experience in thermal modelling and thermal model creation. Demonstration of proven ability to support engineering designs, from a thermal perspective.
Experience with Matlab, Simulink is required and Fluent CFD is preferred.
Additional Desirable Qualifications and Skills
Ability to work as part of a team
Familiarity with systems engineering processes
Familiarity with aircraft fuel systems
