TEST MANUFACTURING ENGINEER
AEROSPACE & DEFENCE

Excellent opportunity for you to join this world-class supplier of innovative, high performance actuation systems and equipment for the aerospace and defence industry.
As Test Engineer reporting to the Principal Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for manufacturing and production Engineering activities associated with the manufacture and test of New Build Products. You will also be responsible for identifying an appropriate cost effective and consistent means of production, achieving the customer's specification, quality and timescale requirements for the product. Liaising with the Product Design Team and Supply Chain , you will ensure that Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) are prerequisites. In addition, you will support Production Test activities as directed by Test Systems, including operational support, the production of conformity/configuration documentation, the specification of new test equipment and instrumentation, and the commissioning and calibration of test rigs.
In particular, you will be responsible for the project management of assigned projects and products, ensuring cost, timescale and specification targets are met. You will implement, support and maintain ACE initiatives, for example SPC, 3P, 5S and 8D analysis. You will also identify opportunities for Continuous Improvements within the operations team in accordance with the company's strategic plan.
You will provide technical and service support to Production Test Teams and facilitate repair and maintenance actions and planning. You will ensure the upkeep of rig technical files and compile Requirements Specifications for new test rigs. You will be responsible for Configuration/Conformity management and investigation into new processes and equipment. Ideally qualified to degree level, you will have some production/manufacturing and test engineering experience in an electro/mechanical hydro-mechanical discipline in a military or commercial aerospace sector. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Outlook),SAP & Basic CAD (Solid Edge / UG or similar) and LabVIEW would be advantageous.
