Description
The job function is to interpret test programmes and to perform specified tests on engines and vehicles, using computerised engine test dynamometers, chassis dynamometers, cold rooms and emissions equipment. The successful applicant will report directly to the Engine & Vehicle Test Manager.
Responsibilities
The roles main duties will be drawn from the following:
? Specifying engine installation.
? Instrumentation requirements - undertaking tests, preparing test data and graphs.
? Calibrating and maintaining test equipment.
? Instrumentation and to diagnose and rectify faults with engine test equipment.
Qualifications & Experience
? Educated to Degree level in an associated Engineering subject would be preferred, or a high level of relevant experience.
? Served a recognised engineering apprenticeship
? Sound knowledge of engines, fuel injection systems and test procedures
? Ability to work in a flexible manner
? Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate at all levels
? Computer literate, a reasonable level of MS office experience required.
? The ability to systematically work through problems on your own initiative
? Self motivated and the ability to work effectively both as part of a team and alone
HoursExisting hours of work comprise a weekly total of 37 hours on either day shift or a double day shift.
Day Shift: 08:00 16:30hrs Mon to Thurs and 08:00 - 13:00hrs Fri
Early Shift: 06:00 14:00 hrs Mon to Thurs and 06:00 - 13:30hrs Fri
Late Shift: 14:00 - 22:00 hrs Mon to Thurs and 13:00 - 20:30hrs Fri
