Description
We have an urgent requirement for a Technical Support Specialist with a key client in the Oil and Gas industry.
FUNCTION: Assists the Sales team in the maintenance of current business through the provision of effective technical support and revenue generation through training seminars.
DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1.*Provides competent technical support to customers using SIMSCI-ESSCOR products that is within the established levels of service, with assistance from more experienced staff when required.
2.*Makes use of training material to match the potential applications of customers.
3.*Makes use of technical literature and presentations on SIMSCI-ESSCOR products and services to highlight their advantages and benefits to existing customers.
4.*Conducts training courses and presentations in a style which is clear and effective.
5.*Meets with customers to discuss SIMSCI-ESSCOR products and services in a professional manner.
6.*Participates in trade shows and exhibitions as agreed with Sales & Marketing, dealing with people in a confident and relaxed manner.
7.*Participates in the development of productive client relationships to further the free exchange of information relevant to SIMSCI-ESSCORs business goals.
8.*Plans and reports activities according to the established formats.
9. Reviews product functional specifications when requested by section manager.
10. Represents the client at external technical meetings on matters relating to the application and use of SIMSCI-ESSCOR products as requested by the section manager.
11. Maintains a strong personal knowledge in the core technologies as required to support the sales of all SIMSCI-ESSCOR products and services.
12. Occasionally assists the SIMSCI-ESSCOR SME's as sanctioned by the section manager.
13. Performs other duties assigned by the section manager.

ORGANISATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports to the SIMSCI-ESSCOR Technical Support Manager, EMEA.
Other skills and abilities:
Developing knowledge of core process simulation technologies. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, and willingness to listen to the contributions of others. Be able to contribute effectively within a team situation and to maintain good working relationships with others in the team, in order to achieve agreed objectives. The job holder should have a creative, reasoned and rigorous approach to problem solving. Is motivated to learn new skills and takes the initiative to develop such skills. They should have a neat and professional appearance.
Certificates etc.:
Must have a valid drivers licence and be willing to occasionally drive own/hired vehicle on company business. Must hold a valid full passport and be able to travel freely within the EMEA region.
Physical Demands:
The role requires extensive travel on company business (often outside the United Kingdom) typically for periods of up to five days but occasionally longer.
