My clients specialise in designing and building powertrain test equipment, so specialising in machine tools and precision components. They currently have a requirement for 2 Service and Technical Support Engineers.
Job purpose:
To provide a comprehensive level of technical & service support to UK & Irish based Customer's
To provide a speedy and professional response to incoming Customer enquiries resulting in a high level of Customer satisfaction.
To bring about a positive resolution of problems within an acceptable time frame.
To accurately document events & maintain an individual machine history within the Customer records.
The dissemination of Technical Data and the collection of fault and failure statistics on the range of supported products.
To raise the profile & status of the company After sales department through the highest levels of Customer service.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
1. To respond to service technical enquiries, primarily by telephone, email and Facsimile in a timely manner.
2. To liaise between Customers, company engineers, our principals and other suppliers to resolve all technical service problems and queries promptly.
3. To estimate repair times and identify spare parts requirements.
4. To obtain or supply technical documents and drawings as needed.
5. Where necessary prepare work instructions & provide technical data for installation of new machines.
6. To assist in determining the departmental training programmes.
7. To follow up after service interventions, ensuring complete resolution and customer satisfaction
8. To keep accurate records of Customer contacts, actions and outcomes.
9. To maintain & update the individual machine history files as necessary.
10. Maintain technical Documents & Manuals library
11. To report weekly on activities, response times, recurring faults, customer complaints etc.
12. Co-ordinate service interventions by the principals
13. To support other team members during periods of illness, holidays or training.
14. Remote diagnosis and Teleservice intervention via Computer using PC Anywhere & Reachout software.
Scope and Coverage:
The company represents an number of leading German Machine tool manufactures in the fields of CNC Turning( Index & Traub ) CNC Milling and prismatic machining ( Hermle & SHW ) and Industrial cleaning ( Durr ). Support is based at Gosport covering mainland UK & the Republic of Ireland. The role requires some UK travel with occasional overnight stays and periodic European visits to our principals for meetings & training sessions.
