A vacancy currently exists for a Technical Specialist - Design within Cummins MidRange Technical Operations. We are looking for candidates who have a distinct interest in design, stress analysis, and product development with proven experience/technical expertise in engine sub-system design (i.e. major castings, lube/cooling circuits and/or valve train) along with demonstrated experience in technical project management.

We are looking for candidates who have a distinct interest in design, stress analysis, and product development with proven experience/technical expertise in engine sub-system design (i.e. major castings, lube/cooling circuits and/or valve train) along with demonstrated experience in technical project management.
Key Responsibilities:
Use ProEngineer, ProMechanica, and other CAE tools for layout, modelling, and analysis of engines, engine sub-systems, engine components and assemblies.
Perform static and kinematic design calculations and complex simulations.
Write engineering releases. Develop new or improved techniques and procedures.
Primary support for the Team Leader.
Assess the robustness of new designs and participate in developing the validation plans (DVP&R).
Provide creative, innovative contributions in area of technical expertise and mentor others within MTO.
Lead and participate in cross functional Design Reviews, FMEAs, HAZ Reviews, 6S project teams, and Functional Excellence activities.
Capable of leading major engine system and/or sub-system design and development activities.
Essential Skills:
Qualified to degree level B(Eng) minimum, MSC preferred in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
Specialist proficiency in Pro/E, Mechanica and other computer aided design and analysis tools.
Demonstrated experience to manage projects in a focused technical area of expertise such as engine lube/cooling circuits, power cylinder, major castings, air handling, EGR, etc.
Leader in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing per ASME Y14.5M-1994.
Excellent presentation skills as well as written communication skills
Lead quality effort on component/project responsibility from Dimensional Variation Analysis (DVA) to manufacturing producibility.
A leader and participant in cross-functional technical groups/teams.
