All matters relating to Technical Security and accreditation of systems within the Skynet 5, PAN & PSIN boundaries.

Technical Security Manager

All matters relating to Technical Security and accreditation of systems within the Skynet 5, PAN & PSIN boundaries.

The post-holder will be the focal point of contact with all project personnel to ensure that all technical security issues are addressed from the outset of a new requirement and will provide design support and consultancy to achieve accreditation for individual projects
They will also be a key member of the Security Assurance Working Group, tasked with the monitoring and production of technical security input to security operating procedures, codes of connection etc.


Co-ordination of system security requirements
Provide consultancy & support to Network designers to ensure suitable security architectures are provided
Input to the production of technical content of generic SyOPs for different types of site, and for of the specific SyOPs for individual sites and systems
Delegated role and functions of the Security Assurance Co-ordinator as detailed in JSP 440
Managing security-related change requests

Qualifications and/or Skills
Thorough knowledge of the Manual of Protective Security and/or Defence Manual of Security (JSP 440)
Sound knowledge of crypto products and procedures
Degree level education

Previous Experience
Manager or engineer with proven track record in infosec disciplines and technical security.
Experience in accreditation practices and procedures
Experience in dealing with the MOD

Successful candidates will be required to be security cleared prior to appointment.
