Technical Publications Author - Hampshire
To create and maintain technical documentation
To work with project engineers to define datasheets, application notes etc
To strive to achieve a consistent, high quality in the written material generated by the Engineering Department, using simple but concise English
To create block diagrams, pictorial illustrations, schematic diagrams etc in support of the technical documentation
Duties:
To create and maintain documents in Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft Word, Lotus WordPro
To create diagrams and illustrations using Illustrator, Corel Draw etc
To liaise closely with engineers in the creation of text to describe products
To always strive to apply a level of commonality in the presentation and look and feel of documents
To actively participate in improving the quality of the descriptions used in datasheets, application notes etc and pro-actively include such changes in future and existing documentation
Position/Skill Requirements:
Excellent written and spoken English
Ability to use Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Word as a minimum, Lotus WordPro an advantage
Some artistic flair for creating attractive and easily understood documents
Good time management skills and the ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to assimilate technical information such that there can be some level of participation of assessing the correctness of descriptions of products
A technical background would be an advantage
BSc or BEng Electronics or BA in English Literature
