Systems Engineering Tools Engineer required to start immediately on an initial 4 month contract, based in Wells for a large defence organisation Purpose of the role To administer and maintain the Systems Engineering toolset, with particular focus on the Configuration Management tools and DOORS. To improve the workings of the tools by, for example, provision of common schemas and to provide training in the use of the tools / schemas, both formal and informal as required.

To improve the workings of the tools by, for example, provision of common schemas and to provide training in the use of the tools / schemas, both formal and informal as required. Key Skills Administering the CM toolset across JS programmes: ClearCase (Base and UCM) ClearQuest DOORs Sherpa Introduction of a Sherpa Replacement Involvement in the Thales Sherpa replacement activities, .Daily Tasks Process incoming and outgoing mail Ensure the Control of Contractors procedure is followed. Ensure all Contractors have signed the appropriate induction form Log events and follow up as needed to ensure the Date set for the task is achieved. Escalate any failed event to the appropriate manager Log any cleaning issues that arise. Keep check on the site files - these files hold all the site information and include the contractor induction forms - they are audited on a monthly basis Install and configure the chosen tool for use in Joint Systems. Provide awareness and user training. Assist the programmes in their adoption of the tool. PDM Tools knowledge of Sherpa and / or other PDM tools such as Windchill PDMLink preferred Personality/behaviours Team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills Self motivated and able to work without supervision. Candidates should be resourceful and proactive in performing activities requested to ensure adequate quality and timely delivery. Willingness / flexibility to support activities at other sites e.g. customer / Thales sites.
