Description
The Systems Engineer is responsible for carrying out R&D activities and co-ordination of both Telecom Services and Supplier activities to design, integrate and prove technologies which will deliver new services to meet our Customers strategic needs.
In particular this individual will have responsibility for supporting a Systems Design Authority in enabling new capabilities into the Catalogue of Services and for enabling a prototype or demonstration of the new design.
Essential Competencies:
Project Management experience
Proven operational experience of service and network management systems within a Telecommunications and/or Sat Comm environment
Experience of project or programme management ideally having a significant involvement in the roll out of operational management systems
Experience in operating in or managing of virtual teams across multiple organisations
Experience in negotiation of test requirements and execution of test campaigns
Experience in process development and operational deployment
Exposure to Training programmes focussed on operational roll out of system upgrades
Excellent report writing and presentation skills
Desirable Competencies:
Understanding of RF-Digital interface issues
Previous track record in leading design and /or operational system upgrades including the development of test campaigns, training programmes and implementation of revised processes and procedures
Good technical understanding of Voice, IP and ATM principles
Good understanding of Operational CRM, Service
Planning/Delivery management Systems
Training Requirements:
Relevant Degree level or equivalent qualification
Experience of Satellite and Network technologies
MS Office and Project proficiency
Successful candidates will be required to be security cleared prior to appointment.
