We are seeking a Systems Engineer and a Senior Systems Engineer to join a department that undertakes a wide range of diverse activities that encompass the full spectrum of the IT discipline, the focus of which is to develop and maintain the real-time and supervisory systems across the business.

You will be involved in developing and maintaining real-time Process Control computer systems to support 24/7 operations across the three main Long Products sites, providing IT-based systems and solutions using a variety of technologies and techniques to meet the demands of customers across a range of diverse activities, in line with the strategic goals of the divisional and business units as well as consistently satisfying customer requirements delivering systems within budget and timescale in accordance with service level agreements currently in place.

The Systems Engineers also support of the operational and strategic projects across the divisional business, actively promote the capabilities of the department and engineering business through key customer relationships and are required to apply attention to detail and conformance to Quality Standards are vital as the department is externally audited to maintain TickIT certification.

Ideally qualified to degree level the Systems Engineer roles involve numerous technologies across the sites and so you should have knowledge and experience of Windows-based technologies, Open systems (i.e. Linux and MySQL), Database design and administration, VMS based systems, Software development using a number of different languages, Web-based technology and Real-time data acquisition. While it is essential that you are Computer literate, specific technical training can be provided
