Our client is looking for a System Design Engineer to be based out of their offices in Portchester, Portsmouth.
The main task is to undertake the top level design of systems covering a broad range of waste management and treatment facilities. This will include:
- Assisting in the development of solutions to customer requirements
- Developing detailed design solutions for systems
- Undertaking Research and Development projects
- Preparing technical specifications for systems covering functional performance, operation, reliability, and maintainability
- Integration of components from differing suppliers to ensure effective integration
- Development of interface specifications, technical specifications
- Development of test requirements, supporting the conduct of tests and trials
- Development of Operating and Maintenance Procedures
- Preparation of drawings and sketches using Autocad
The role requires a good broad understanding of mechanical, electrical, thermal and building systems. The top level design of control and monitoring systems is also included
Experience:
Experience of system design including mechanical handling systems, SCADA and control systems
Knowledge:
Understanding of engineering practice and legislation
Mechanical and electrical systems understanding
The conduct of analysis to support design development
Candidates must have a driving license as the job will require regular travel between sites in the UK
