Description
Job Title: Supply Chain Manager
Location: Barrow in Furness, Cumbria
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000
Key Tasks / Job Description
1. Review the entire Submarines Supply Chain with a view to establishing the strategy for future categories and Equipments.
2. Support the delivery of equipment to the programme and quality/requirements objectives.
3. Develop a plan to mitigate any risks identified during the review.
4. Help with the development of Procurement Plans to support the project.
5. Develop relationships with the Customer and supporting functions (incl. Supply Chain) that continuously improve customer satisfaction.
6. Liase with Supply Chain representatives to ensure the material requirements are met. Liase with planning and engineering to ensure technical and programme requirements are achievable, understood and communicated to Supply Chain. Co-ordinate and chair meetings involving cross functional representation.
Person (Brief Specification)
1. Background in Production/Operations with comprehensive knowledge of build strategy and an ability to deal with people at all levels of the organisation.
2. The person will need to be confident, articulate and numerate with a working knowledge of ERP systems and Planning Tools used throughout the company.
3. Demonstrates sounds judgement and common sense.
Qualifications
1. Graduate or equivalent
2. Business qualification would be an advantage.
3. Member of CIPS would be an advantage.
Experience
1. Production / Operations experience
2. Understanding of Planning and Logistics environment.
3. Understanding of internal processes and procedures.
4. Influencing and organisational competency.
