Outline Job Profile:
The Subcontracts Management Team within the Terminals and Products Business Unit in Astrium Services are seeking an experienced individual to apply Subcontract Management expertise across complete project lifecycle fro Bid through to Support. The role covers all aspects of subcontract Management including the definition, negotiation, placement, delivery and performance of subcontracted goods and services for satellite terminal sub-systems and equipments in accordance with business processes.
The role will require the candidate to:
1.Take responsibility for assigned work packages to provide subcontract management throughout the project lifecycle from bid through support.
2.Deliver effective subcontractor selection, value for money subcontracts and timely completion of subcontracted goods and services.
3.Support the business unit bidding function in securing work by influencing procurement requirements, the identification and negotiation with potential subcontractors, obtaining/generating cost and price and creating subcontract procurement plans for inclusion in proposal documentation.
4.Participate in the project planning process so as to ensure that the plan accurately reflects the timescales and activities necessary to obtain products and services as required.
5.Have a strong team ethic coupled with an ability to work on own initiative.
6.Lead and co-ordinate multi-functional teams comprising engineers, quality, commercial and administrative staff to produce the necessary subcontract specifications, terms and conditions and statements of work.
7.Lean and co-ordinate the multi-functional team to deliver and monitor the subcontractor performance from contract placement through to closure. 8.Demonstrate an ability to work closely with the core project team, subcontractors and internal customers to ensure the delivery of supplier quality, cost and schedule targets.
9.Resolve subcontractor issues impacting on the Programme Schedule and implement corrective action plans with suppliers
10.Evaluate contract performance to determine necessity for amendments or extensions.
11.Compilation and presentation of board level reports, presentations and KPI.
The role will require travel to and from suppliers and other EADS sites, within and external to the UK.
Essential Skills/Experience:
1.Must have a minimum of HNC Level education 2.Experience in the successful management of technically challenging development subcontracts.
3.Experience of leading a team in formulating, negotiating, placing and managing a subcontract.
