Description

Sub Contract Officer for this leading defence organisation based in Bedfordshire. MOD security clearance criteria applies to this position.

Our ideal candidate will currently be a in a junior buyer/procurement role in a large organisation, preferably a defence or electronics sector company and with the ambition and drive to move up into a challenging and demanding role as part of an established team. We are also looking for excellent organisation and communications ability, particularly in terms of liaison with niche suppliers and clients alike and good negotiation skills, and a familiarity with contract terms and conditions.

Job Purpose:
Operating within an IPT structure, delivering Procurement expertise. To manage supplier and supply chain performance for a given set of suppliers from bidding to contract management for the project bought out requirements to cost and schedule. To be an integral member of various Project Management Teams advising on the functional and commercial aspects of supply chain management providing functional governance and process ownership and accountability. To assist in the development of a supply chain strategy to support delivery requirements.

You will be responsible for:
Developing and delivering cost effective supply chain solutions. Delivering process compliance (and development/improvement where required). Ensuring appropriate interfacing with the supplier base to deliver effective overall performance. Leadership of all aspects associated with Suppliers ability to perform.

The Subcontract Officer must be able to demonstrate the following:
Experience of working with Suppliers * Experience of Contract Terms and Conditions * Excellent organisational skills * Commercial awareness and experience * Negotiation and influencing skills * Effective Communication skills.
