Sub-Contracts Manager
Sourcing suppliers that add value to the overall bid, seeking innovative supply chain solutions and commercial arrangements where ever possible, including the negotiation of terms that reflect prime contract risks where necessary (i.e. flow up/down arrangements) and have responsibility for overarching relationships with key suppliers.
Advising Project Managers on meaning and implication of contract terms, ensuring compliance to Contracts. Identifying business risks associated with tenders and supply contracts through analysis, mitigations or active management.
Drafting, negotiating terms to include flow-down of client prime agreement terms and conclude contracts award and maintain post contracting management - whilst achieving annual savings targets.
Working closely with suppliers and customers to improve operations, minimise risk, reducing cost, resolution of critical supply issues. Monitoring and reporting the performance of suppliers against contract terms and through active relationship management. Provide monthly reporting to the Senior Subcontracts Manager or Regional Procurement Manager, including establishing benchmarks relating to supply chain planning/performance against goals on a regular basis. Travel and attend meetings, as required to internal/external Client sites and Suppliers within the UK and international - as required.
Working with subject matter experts to integrate contributions of others spanning across different departments. Maintaining an expert working knowledge on supply chain management including keeping abreast of developments in the field.
Educational requirements: MCIPS (or working towards it).
Experience:
Practical knowledge of the content of a broad range of Commercial Supply Contracts and the ability to draft them in a Defence/Aerospace environment. Working knowledge of Contract law, Commercial practice and Risk.
