Description
Stress analysis of hydraulic, life-support, environmental and electronic components for the aerospace industry, as part of a small group of stress engineers.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Stress analysis of hydraulic, life-support, environmental and electronic components for the aerospace industry, as part of a small group of stress engineers.
Analysis of proposals, design schemes, and support for the answering of queries from other internal departments.
Interpretation of worst cases from Customer or Internal specifications.
Analysis due to internal loads (pressure, temperature and operating loads), and external loads (limit & ultimate).
Analysis of environmental loading, such as sinusoidal & random vibration, acceleration & shock.
Use of Mathcad, and any other suitable media, including ANSYS Workbench finite element analysis.
Stress analysis experience of components. Experience of working to the requirements of aviation Regulatory Authorities (FAR, JAR, Def-Stan 00-970 etc) is essential.
Must be experienced in using the ANSYS Workbench FE package for linear, non-linear & contact analysis. Random vibration analysis would also be of benefit.
To be competent in using Mathcad 11 & 13 and Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Essential that the candidate has the ability to work on their own with limited guidance, and also as part of a team interacting with designers, development engineers and project engineers.
