Essential Experience/skills
Embedded software experience: C18/CCS/MPLAB other
USB development PIC18F devices or similar
Experience in 8/16 bit microcontrollers (software/hardware)
Good organisational skills/team player/project planning & management/ lateral thinking/problem solving
Can apply knowledge & experience with good design skills
Can apply comprehensive test methodologies during and after development
Can apply version control to all projects
Orcad Schematic capture and layout
Design for manufacture (DFM)
Non essential Experience /skills
PC based software development
Hardware design for external/internal prototyping of PCBs
An understanding of EMC & EOL testing
The Role
Working within the R&D department as part of a multi disciplined team, the successful candidate will be required to design/develop medium to large volume embedded systems for interfacing both AC/DC devices, for new and existing products They shall be involved throughout the product life cycle
The role will also require the successful candidate to become involved in hardware design/layout/prototyping/ testing a mixture of hardware & control circuitry concurrently, ideally resulting in a 40% - 60% mix hardware/software design respectively.
