Our client is the world's leading mobile phone supplier and a leading supplier of mobile and fixed telecom networks
General Purpose:
Working in the Audio SW Solutions Test Team responsible for testing software for audio features. The main responsibilities of the role are:
- Carrying out release testing to a plan made up of automated, semi-automated and manual test cases
- Creating and executing new test cases to test new phone features or changes to existing features
Scope:
- Flashing phones with new software and setting up and running the test environment for automated, semi-automated and manual test cases
- Investigate failures, creating and analysing logs and trace files to provide information for the developers
- Validate error corrections
- Creating test reports
- Raising entries in the error tracking database.
- Work with the Software Development Groups and Build and Release Team
Impact:
Accountable for quality and accuracy of own output. Errors may have limited impact on function/project/customer
Individual Portfolio:
- At least 2 years experience working in SW testing
- Degree Qualification in computing or software engineering
The candidate should possess the following skills:
- Be tenacious, innovative, self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team
- Ability to solve problems and learn quickly
- Good interpersonal skills
- Meets deadlines in a challenging environment
Desirable Skills:
- Ability to identify and specify new test cases (error hunting) from interface and the functional specifications
- Qualifications in testing e.g. Information Systems Examination Board (ISEB) Testing Qualification or International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB)
- Programming experience in C, C++ or C#
