Software Quality Assurance and Validation Engineer - South Yorkshire
To ensure that the Companys software development process is followed, and the work products are of high quality by:
Promotion of the Companys software development process and of best practice.
Planning and execution of internal and external audits of the development process.
Planning and execution of internal audits of software.
Planning of, and acting as moderator of, walkthroughs and reviews of software project work products.
Providing assistance to design engineers in the software project set-up and planning.
Providing assistance to design engineers in the preparation of software project documentation.
Monitoring the progress of software projects to ensure that the work products are delivered in the correct sequence.
Administration of and assistance in the use of the computer aided software-engineering tools.
Escalation to higher management where necessary of failures to comply with the process or failure to produce work of high quality.
Degree in a subject relevant to Electronics or Software Engineering.
HND/HNC with significant relevant embedded software and electronics experience.
Work experience; the following is essential:
Professional experience in the field described by this job description.
Knowledge of software development process methods & standards (e.g. Spice/ISO15504).
Experience of writing software in C. Knowledge of good practice in the use of C.
Ability to use Microsoft Office applications.
Training; the following will be advantageous:
SPICE/ISO15504 Assessor
Work experience; the following will be advantageous:
Knowledge of CASE tools.
Experience as a moderator of reviews of work products.
Software review techniques.
Communication skills.
Use of software quality metrics.
Conflict management.
Experience of electronics design work using microcontrollers.
Design for volume manufacture.
