A telecommunications company is seeking an experience software manager to join their mobile handset division, bringing expert knowledge in project management and real time embedded systems. Previous experience managing 2/3 large scale software projects.
A telecommunications company is seeking an experience software manager to join their mobile handset division, bringing expert knowledge in project management and real time embedded systems. Previous experience managing 2/3 large scale software projects.
This person will be able to strengthen their project management team take the challenge of delivering the high quality Software for the next generation, leading edge multi-media mobile terminal products.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Product Program Manager you are responsible for planning, managing and leading the Software subproject or project team. In managing the Software project you will work to pre-defined milestones and take project metrics to ensure product quality at each step.
You will be expected to plan. track and control the software project to pre-defined product milestones ensuring product quality, and identifying key issues as they arise to ensure the project milestones are met on target. You will be managing local and global sub-contractors, ensuring that requirements, errors and changes are prioritised and managed to deliver a quality product.
Experience & Qualifications:
Essential:
- Demonstrate have completed at least 2 or 3 large scale SW projects in a SW Project Management role.
- Excellent understanding of project management skills
- Excellent communication, collaboration and networking skills
- Demonstrate experience in working within a multi-discipline team, within a multi-site organization
- Strong understanding of real-time embedded systems and SW Engineering
- Strong supplier and customer management skills
- Strong organizational skills & good attention to detail
- Good understanding of SW components in a real-time embedded system
- Fluently spoken and written English
- Good coaching skills
Desirable:
- Knowledge of wireless technologies (GSM and WCDMA)
- Experience in working with development for mobile handsets
- Knowledge of PRINCE2
