Description
Software Manager -For a new team- the Software Manager plans, manages and allocates resources, shapes priorities, co-ordinates interactions with customers and users, and keeps the project team focused.
The role will be based in Essex and is commutable from Basildon, Harlow, Braintree and Colchester.

The role will be based in Essex and is commutable from Basildon, Harlow, Braintree and Colchester.
As Software Manager you will have overall responsibility for the delivery of high quality software in a timely manner. To assist the Engineering manager in the identification and assessment of risks. To assist the Engineering manager in the planning of phases and iterations. To define the software team organisation and staffing. To monitor and report progress of the Software Development team. To allocate and co-ordinate priorities.
The Software Manager will be educated to HND/Degree level in a relevant discipline.
It is essential that you can offer:-
Experience of managing iterative software development for real-time environments.
Demonstrable success in collaborative working. Strong technical leadership.
Effective, pro-active decision making.
It would be useful if your background included:-
Proven experience in managing the development of militaryCommunications Systems
Experience of scope estimation, planning, time management, scheduling, project costing, and budget management. Knowledge of the RUP/Iterative development.
Experience of UML. Full development of lifecycle experience.
Use of Rational ClearCase and ClearQuest.
As Software Manager you will need to be a Completer, Finisher with the ability to interact with a varying set of customers both internal and external
