Description
Software House IT Director C++ / Java / SQL - Birmingham £75,000 + car + 20% profit share bonus + bens. We are currently seeking an experienced IT Director from a software house background familiar with a C++ / Java / SQL Technical background. Based in Birmingham but with some travel to other sites in Europe and occasionally the US. The main purpose of the role is to oversee the groups responsible for Architecture, Programming (offshore as well as onshore), Help Desk, SW Support, Maintenance, Release Management as well as Process improvement of the software. You will also coordinate and facilitate the Product development, Project management, analysis and testing activities as it relates to the products from inception through to launch in compliance with software development life cycle guidelines in support of senior management. You will also assume general management responsibility for the Birmingham office. You will also participate in Sales support to the Business Development VP, activities to include the creation of contracts. You will also participate in Audits and recertification activities. You should be able to operate with moderate direction, interfacing with Software Development and Validation Management, Quality Process Management, Application Development/Engineering and IS team members as and when required. You will also be required to facilitate the preparation of forecasts, manage expense budgets and approve spends as needed. Candidates should have 10+ years experience in structured software development life cycle and validation, (preferably in a regulated industry). Experience with formal SDLC methodologies and
previous experience involving direct customer interaction and support is required; experience managing help desk and support groups is strongly preferred excellent understanding of software development languages and tools such as C++, Java, and SQL.
