Like the F-35 Lightning II the first (and currently only) stealthy supersonic, multi-role fighter plane. And the Herti family of Unmanned Air Vehicles, which can soar thousands of feet in the air and take thermal images of the terrain below all without a pilot on board.
As a group, we have a hand in every stage of an aircrafts development. This starts with an initial brief and carries on through a variety of design, build and test stages, before we deliver the final product. That level of involvement means we can boast a wide range of capabilities, including systems integration, manufacturing, and repair and upgrade. Weve even produced a number of military training programmes. Our customer base spans more than 30 countries worldwide. And we currently employ around 10,000 people.

Youll also need experience in general software development. Any defence-related experience is an advantage, but not essential. Other qualifications will be considered if balanced by further relevant experience.
Experience of developing complex software systems using structured and process driven approaches is required and your experience should cover one or more of the following areas:
•Software engineering through the complete lifecycle of complex real time embedded , engineering data visualisation, training or simulation systems
•Software Design: Flexible, model driven architectures; UML, Statemate, OO Methods & Tools, Integrated Modular Avionics
•Software Implementation: Ada, C, C++, Java
•Hardware Software Integration:MC68xxx, PowerPC, XD Ada, Ada-Multi, VX Works; GMART
•Verification & Validation: Host / Target Unit & Integration testing utilising advanced Testing & modelling environments (LDRA, AdaTest,)
•Systems & Software Safety: Spark, Def Stds 00-56 & 00-55, RTCA DO-178B, Static Code Analysis; Hazard Analysis
To undertake more senior technical and leadership roles, you should have a proven track record of delivery within a software engineering environment. For all roles you should also be comfortable and confident in making accurate and concise technical recommendations with customers, suppliers and partners and be able to work effectively within a multi-skilled, integrated team environment.
