Software Engineer - C/C++ and UML - required for an immediate start initial 6 month contract, based in Govan, Glasgow, for a large defence organisation. Primary Purpose of Role Estimation, analysis, design, implementation, test and qualification of software systems in a real time, embedded, safety related environment Technical Skills C/C++ - highly desirable oCapable of developing to MISRA or High Integrity C++ standards UML Understanding of Real Time Operating Systems and driver level development Comfortable in an embedded development environment Model Driven Development / Model Based Engineering Architecting of platform independent and platform dependent models Familiar with Automated Test Tools and Test Regimes Testing software to high levels of integrity and coverage, using both static and dynamic testing Education / Qualifications MSc, MEng or PhD Preferred Though BSc or BEng at 2.1 or better in a software engineering/software technology based subject will be considered if the candidate has relevant experience or demonstrable flair in a relevant area Due to the nature of the business, it may be necessary for applicants to undergo full security clearance In return, we can offer a competitve pay rate, flexible working hours, on-site facilities and free parking
