Software Development Engineer (Aberdeen, UK)
An opportunity has arisen to join our client's Software Development Team as a Software Engineer. The role requires a disciplined individual to work within a team of developers with responsibility of creating and developing new & existing GUI's for a specialist range of subsea sensors.
Key Responsibilities:
To develop, maintain and debug a range of new and existing software packages for control and display of various sonar, laser and measurement systems.
To provide backup and assist the Software / IT department with upkeep and administration of the company network systems.
Qualifications & Experience:
Must hold at least an HND in a Computer Science or Engineering discipline.
Software development experience, preferably working within the subsea industry or with control systems or visual instrumentation displays.
Experience in Delphi and/or C++ Windows development environments essential.
An understanding of LAN and serial data protocols (Ethernet / ArcNet / RS-232 / etc) and a basic knowledge of PC architecture, Windows OS's.
Any of the following skills would be beneficial but not essential; .NET, GDI+, DirectX / DirectShow, Linux programming (Kylix, RTLinux).
