Software Engineer - required to start on an initial 6 month contract, based in Cheadle Heath for a Large Defence Organisation.
Software Engineer - required to start on an initial 6 month contract, based in Cheadle Heath for a Large Defence Organisation. Purpose of the role Work as part of an application development team, within the larger software organisation Participate in estimating, organising and planning of all work activities Participate in software design and development activities Covering requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, verification and validation Ensure all activities are consistent with the company processes and standards Participate in the groups activities for continuous improvement Key Tasks Software sizing estimation (SLOC, Hours, Processing) Organising and planning of work activities Requirements Analysis Design using structured methods Programming Integration and Test Undertake and participate in peer reviews Collaborate on improvements to company process, work instructions, tools and methodologies Qualifications Degree or higher qualification in relevant subject 5+ years experience in large scale software development (essential) 3+ years Java experience (essential) 3+ years UML experience (essential) 3+ years experience in HCI development 1+ years Corba/C++ experience (desirable) Experience with XML, IP communications (desirable) Familiarity with MDD, MDA (desirable) Familiarity with S-Cube framework (desirable) Familiarity with DOORs, Rhapsody, Eclipse, Clear Case/Quest (desirable)
