Our prestigious client are looking for a software engineer specialising in real-time embedded systems to join its Software development team, working on software primarily for its military aerospace and military vehicle systems.

Our prestigious client are looking for a software engineer specialising in real-time embedded systems to join its Software development team, working on software primarily for its military aerospace and military vehicle systems.

The ideal candidates should have the following skills:

"Honours degree in electrical and electronic engineering, software engineering, computer science or related subject such as physics.
"at least 2 years experience of developing real-time embedded software solutions in 'C';
"Experience of one or more defence/aerospace standards (DO-178B, Def Stan 00-56, IEC61508).
"The candidate should be able to develop software solutions in accordance with the business/contract requirements. This will involve all phases on the software life-cycle from requirements capture to maintenance.

The successful candidate will be expected to work as part of a team and must be able to manage their individual project tasks as well as provide accurate estimates and technical responses for future bids, provide technical support to Sales and Marketing and occasionally make presentations to both internal and external customers.

It would be desirable, but not essential that the candidate has experience of some of the following:-
"CAN, (CANopen, MilCAN, J1939);
"TTA, TTP, TTPtools
"Ethernet, TCP/IP, UDP/IP, VME, 1553
"Freescale HC(S)12, PowerPC, MPC555, FGPA processor core(s);
"RTOS experience (VxWorks, Windows CE);
"SCADE;
"C#, C++, UML
"Basic understanding of electronics suitable for diagnosing faulty during hardware/software integration;

Candidates must be prepared to work on customers premises or to work abroad from time to time.
