SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER
MEDICAL EQUIPMENT

Our client is a long-established manufacturer of medical equipment and has grown to become a highly successful UK market leader in their field. In terms of quality, reliability and reputation, their medical equipment range is recognised internationally as second to none, and is the result of many years experience and considerable in-house expertise from a dedicated workforce.
They are looking to recruit a Software Development Engineer to work on new product developments and complete significant improvements to existing products.
With a good degree in computing, electronic engineering or engineering or with equivalent experience the candidate will have:
•Embedded software skills with C and assembler for micro-controllers in particular for operating system-less, resource limited systems
•Experience in writing hardware drivers (eg A/D and D/A) and bootloaders
•The ability to write code from schematics and datasheets
•Experience of integration and debugging of software with new hardware together with the use of electronic test equipment to aid debugging
•A good knowledge of control theory and be experienced in implementing real-time control algorithms.
The following skills and experience would be an advantage:
•Analogue and digital electronics
•Experience of developing data acquisition systems
•Some experience in power electronics
•Exposure to the full software development lifecycles, in particular of formal software test methodologies
•Experience in a regulated industry e.g. medical, defence, avionics.
