Software Development & Test Engineer

Description

To develop and maintain a test environment for wireless applications for specific Consumer customers and projects.
These applications will mostly be developed using Bluelab and RadioPro development environments (SDKs) and address a complete portfolio of wireless technologies inclusive of Bluetooth, WiFi and GPS and will include many new technologies in the future.

Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Consumer team in creating high quality wireless consumer products
Provide all aspects of software support and development to designated customers
Supporting customers with their bespoke software system designs
Providing system integration, testing and analysis of problems
Design verification and testing to confirm design performance
Develop software development and analysis skills with Bluelab, SDK for Bluetooth applications
Develop and maintain test scripts for each application and associated profiles
Analyse and formalise test results before passing onto the customer
Possibility of some travel to customer sites predominantly in Asia as an when required.

Required:
A degree in a relevant subject (Electronic or Software Engineering or equivalent)
Ability to write and debug C based applications.
Ability to write and debug test scripts
Ability to analyse test results
Good problem-solving skills and ability to think laterally as part of a team, or individually, to meet the needs of the project
Dynamic and outgoing personality
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Good diagnostic and analytical skills
Willing to learn and develop new skills to enable to maintain its design-in lead within the Wireless industry
Flexible

Desired:
Good understanding of the Bluetooth profiles including l2cap and SDP
A general knowledge of codec formats
A basic DSP knowledge
A basic understanding of TCL
Good understanding of revision control software
Customer facing and commercial awareness
Willing to travel domestically and internationally
Able to effectively interface between customers and the organisation
