Software Configuration Engineer - required to start on an initial 6 month contract, based in Cheadle Heath for a Large Defence Organisation. Key Tasks Responsible for configuring and maintaining software configuration tools. Participates in the drafting of the project SCMP document.
Software Configuration Engineer - required to start on an initial 6 month contract, based in Cheadle Heath for a Large Defence Organisation. Key Tasks Responsible for configuring and maintaining software configuration tools. Participates in the drafting of the project SCMP document. Creating of all formal software builds for the BU and TBU Software Project Teams Facilitates project Software Configuration Control Boards Responsible for facilitating rigorous and robust Configuration Management procedures. Develops and Maintains SCM Metrics. Responsible for providing inputs into project planning to meet project milestones Able to act autonomously, the jobholder will be able to plan all configuration management activities. Must be capable of clear analytical thinking with the ability to assess complex problems Make technical decisions without constant referral to line management. Able to prioritise and make reactive planning decisions as required, Balancing the priorities of the various demands Qualifications Minimum of HNC or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computing or equivalent Experience of using configuration management tools, Specific experience of ClearCase and ClearQuest is essential. Experience with ClearCase UCM is beneficial. Strong UNIX skills including scripting Experience of software build environments used in ADA, C/C++ and Java projects Ability to communicate effectively with specialists and managers in a range of disciplines and levels.
