An opportunity to work in a ship repair and refit environment.
You will be involved in the repair and refit of HM Surface ships.
Experience of using chain block, various strops both wire and fibre, working with heavy/light plate and lifting of various sizes equipment and fleeting objects will be required - Along with being able to interpret and work from 2 dimensional drawings, being able to conduct on-site risk assessments and records as necessary and you must also have the ability to identify approximate weights and be able to select the suitable equipment to lift/fleet or sling.
You will be required to understand and follow written/and or oral instructions as well as understand and follow health and safety regulations IAW LOLER (Loading Operations Lifting Equipment Regulations).
Rates for PAYE contractors are 11.59 (plus 1.18 holiday credit) for the first 37 hours worked, 15.45 (plus 1.57 holiday credit) for overtime Monday - Saturday and 19.32 (plus 1.96 holiday credit) for overtime on a Sunday.
For limited or umbrella company contractors rates are 14.40 for the first 37 hours worked, 19.21 for overtime overtime Monday- Saturday and 24.01 for overtime on a Sunday.
Overtime will paid once 37 hours have been worked - there will be an average of 45 hours per week available
Successful candidates will have to produce their current slinging/rigging ticket upon the first day of employment.
