An experienced Power Station or Construction Site Project Manager is urgently sought to work on a Major Engineering Works Programme in Didcot, Oxfordshire. Initially a 12 month contract, the role will pay in the region of £400-550 per day. The role requires someone who has been involved in new build Construction projects.
You will take responsibility for the delivery of a new Gas Turbine, and the replacement of a DCS system during 2008 / 2009. You should therefore have extensive experience overseeing Major Engineering Works programmes, on operational Power Stations or large scale Construction projects.
In order to be considered you will understand Engineering, Consenting and Procurement activities associated with major Engineering works, and be able to control site Health, Safety and Environmental issues. Overseeing Construction and Commissioning delivery, you will review project programmes and method statements and will be expected to critically comment on logic, sequence, task duration, and safety management risk mitigation. Strong commercial and cost management skills are crucial, as you will manage your own budgets.
You should be Qualified in an Engineering discipline and understand Quality Management systems, and ideally have Safety Management Qualifications such as NEBOSH. Leading management and mitigation of project risks, you will be an effective communicator able to operate effectively in a changing environment.
