1.0 Position Title: Site Manager

2.0 Department: Construction and Commissioning

3.0 Reporting to: Construction Manager

4.0 Purpose: The Site Manager is required to manage all of the site
activities within the Project and ensure that, at site level, all
work is conducted in a safe, efficient and environmentally
acceptable manner.

5.0 Supervision:
5.1 Exercised: The direction and allocation of duties of all site
based staff. The direction of office staff whilst
visiting site. The supervision of site sub-contractors.
5.2 Received: Direction from the Construction Manager on administration
and technical matters. Once allocated wholly or partly to a
project, use of time is under the direction of the relevant
Project Manager.

6.0 Principal Duties:
6.1 To ensure compliance with company procedures and work instructions,
guide notes and other information that forms part of the quality
assurance, health and safety and environmental management systems.
6.2 To ensure that all sub-contractors are supervised in respect to 6.1
6.3 To ensure the effective management and supervision of all
sub-contractors with respect to time, cost and quality.
6.4 To provide effective interface management and supervision of all
sub-contractors.

6.5 To maintain effective good relations and communication with the Client
and the team.
6.6 To ensure that the site accommodation and facilities are maintained to a
high standard.
6.7 To ensure that all materials are efficiently received and stored safely in
good condition.
6.8 To ensure that site daily records are produced and distributed in
accordance with procedures.
6.9 To act as the environmental representative for the company on site.
6.10 To report progress against the agreed programme for the works and
advise of any delays to the Project Manager.
6.11 To comply with all Health and Safety responsibilities commensurate
with the role, as outlined in the Health and Safety policy (freely
accessible via the intranet.
6.12 To comply with all Environmental responsibilities commensurate with the
role, as outlined in the Environmental Management System (outlined in
CP26) and the job impacts list.
6.13 Any other duties commensurate with the position as may be assigned
from time to time.

7.0 Desirable Qualifications:
A formal engineering qualification (minimum HNC or equivalent preferred)
Demonstrable, relevant site experience
IOSH Managing Safely in Construction
