Description
SITE ENGINEER
£22-35K depending on experience
UK Sites
Key purpose:Assist the Project Manager in all aspects of the running of contracts. In particular, to supervise subcontractors carrying out access development, foundation upgrading and scaffolding works.
Managing the various site activities undertaken, ensuring the highest safety standards, to the required quality, within budget and to the programme.
Key Responsibilities:
•Keeping a complete daily diary and reporting any delays or irregularities to his Site Engineer immediately. Attend site progress meetings.
•Ensuring the satisfactory performance of the operations under his control and ensuring the level of satisfactory engineering standards is maintained.
•Utilising the up to date construction and engineering drawings for the operations being performed.
•Understanding, observance and implementation of the divisional QA policy and procedures in line with requirements. Ensure that corrective action in respect of products, services and the quality system are effective.
•Ensuring that equipment and plant in use is satisfactory both in quantity and condition to execute the work and also meet the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work act and other divisional Safety standards. Attendance at Site Safety Committee Meetings and ensuring that all operatives comply with the Safety requirements.
•Hold weekly co-ordination meetings with subcontractors to ensure the safety of all personnel and members of the public. Report weekly progress to the Project Manager.
•Ensure that safe methods of work are employed on all sites and traffic management measures in place.
•Maintain site records for inclusion within the final record package to the client.
•Give Toolbox Talks and Induction Talks to site operatives.
•Procure materials, plant and equipment to meet the construction programme
•Work with site gangs to learn and understand the various operations carried out by them. i.e. foundations, tower erection and conductor stringing.
•Discuss with operatives proposed methods of installation and write method statements and risk assessments.
