SITE ELECTRICAL ENGINEER
COMPLEX PETROCHEMICAL PROJECTS
BASED QATAR (ONE INITIAL MONTH IN PARIS)
A Site Electrical Engineer is required to provide guidance and support to the Implementation Contractor (IC) to help deliver Quality site construction and implementation that satisfies the project requirements, as well as to encourage a no change and flawless start up mindset within site IC team, provide guidance on the interpretation of Project Specifications and Shell DEPs to the IC and review discipline engineering documents to assure quality compliance with relevant Project Specifications and Shell DEPs.
You will be responsible for ensuring you answer in a timely manner all discipline technical queries and deviations, review in a timely manner all discipline engineering deliverables, and familiarise yourself with established discipline key interfaces and help resolve all site issues relating to these interfaces. You will be an integral member of the site team for project reviews and will be required to participate in progress meetings to maintain an overview of progress, issues and actions pertaining to electrical engineering discipline, as well as following up to ensure closure of all discipline actions arising from any meetings.
The Site Electrical Engineer will co-ordinate with PMC Central Team concerning all discipline related activities as well as providing input and advice to Project Controls and Contract Management concerning matters relating to the management of change and also to the Commissioning Team relating to electrical discipline activities. In a supervisory capacity, you will help IC to plan, develop, coordinate and direct all aspects of field engineering to meet project technical and environmental requirements and as a technical specialist, you will help IC develop and evaluate plans and criteria for various site activities, assessing the feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering ideas and evaluations

To succeed as Site Electrical Engineer you should be qualified to degree level in Electrical Engineering, and ideally a Chartered Engineer, with extensive relevant experience of leading complex petrochemical projects. You must have a thorough knowledge of power system design and analysis and electrical equipment design parameters and operation as well as knowledge of hazardous area classification principles and thorough familiarity with the selection of suitable certified equipment. You must also be able to be an effective team leader and team supervisor who is competent in counseling subordinates in career development and enhancement of skills.
Prior experience working in a PMC role would be highly advantageous, as would familiarity with implementation of Change Management and the principles of electrical equipment commissioning.
