SHIFT LEADER (NORWICH) - An unrivalled opportunity has arisen at this leading soft drinks manufacturer for a Shift Leader from an Operations or Engineering background to assume responsibility for leading a shift of 20 operatives in a high volume factory in Norwich. You will achieve the optimum use of resources through the leadership and development of team members, producing quality goods within costs and delivering excellent customer satisfaction. You will work rotating weekly shifts (earlies/lates/nights/days).
THE ROLE - You will ensure all targets are met with regard to customer service and reliability levels; quality standards; hygiene; and Health and Safety, continuously improving the performance of the operating team to enable a rapid response to fluctuating volumes and new product opportunities. Developing each team member to their full potential is critical in the role and you will promote involvement and build the team towards self-sufficiency. In addition to the day to day activity you will help to establish a strategic department plan and implementing the necessary tactical plan for the factory. Sometimes you will lead or contribute to cross functional project improvement teams and work closely with other functions to ensure the smooth introduction of new products / processes. You will also contribute to managing the budget and coordinate weekly / annual flexible working and product scheduling activities associated with the factory.
YOUR SKILLS - You will bring proven and effective people management abilities either in an Engineering or Operations environment and experience of process management in a fast moving manufacturing environment. You will know manufacturing continuous improvement best practise (such as 5S and lean) and have an in-depth knowledge of progressive HR policies and relevant legislation. You will be a confident and innovative team leader with a strong customer focus and a dedication and drive for results. Strong problem solving abilities and a creative and flexible approach are also essential, as is the ability to communicate and influence at all levels.
