Service & Calibration Team Leader
The Service & Calibration Team leader is responsible for ensuring that the required targets are met for on time delivery & customer satisfaction. The scope of the service department encompasses servicing handheld instruments for electricians through to van installed test systems for power utilities together with the management of a UKAS accredited calibration facility.
The role requires technical, commercial and management skills to provide sound direction & assistance for the service team and technical input to engineering to optimise the reliability of new product designs.
Responsibilities include: - General people management duties for the service/calibration team. - Providing technical advice, direction and assistance to staff to maximise efficiency, cost effectiveness and quality of work. - Controlling / scheduling of repair & calibration work utilising individual technical abilities in order to maximise throughput of orders and optimise lead times. - Identifying shortfalls in individual technical ability and provide suitable training. - Monitoring departmental performance and defining/implementing change as necessary to achieve long term goals for repair/cal turnaround, customer service and business efficiency. - Providing controlled, well thought through technical guidance to new product design teams based upon analysis and technical interpretation of repair/cal data - Organising on-site service tours and calibration days.
