Description

This specialist engineering business is the leading supplier of test and measurement, process control and data retrieval / information systems to some of the largest Oil & Gas and Power Generation organisations worldwide.

Due to planned growth they currently require a field based service engineer to support their clients operations in the Republic of Ireland, the position will require a committed and self motivated engineer able communicate at all levels.

This position offers variety and technical challenges and would include the calibration and installation of process instrumentation as well as the service, installation and commissioning of ESD and industrial control systems.

In addition to external engineering requirements the engineer will be expected to provide a technical and applications support service to the in house business development team.

Engineers must be familiar with PLC, SCADA and DCS applications and be able to fault find and modify the relevant software programs, additional product training will be provided on the remaining products of this client to include safety control and shut down systems, chart recorders and process control instrumentation.
A 24hr service call out system is in operation and the successful engineer (following probationary period) will be expected to participate.

Whilst the role calls for an emphasis on DCS and ESD systems, it is required that a flexible approach is adopted towards all customer service assignments and requirements.
The candidate will be expected to have a flexible attitude towards their working environment and location, which could include sites offshore, in Ireland, the UK and overseas therefore a valid offshore survival certificate is essential.

Due to the level of validation and documentation required it is preferable for engineers to be formally qualified in a relevant discipline
