SERVICE TECHNICIANS
STEEL PRODUCTION
TEESSIDE
We are seeking Service Technicians to be based in Teesside and to self manage/ supervise all work associated with Electrical & Process Control Workshop engineering activities.
You will control and monitor the departments planned and arising maintenance, calibration, repair and installation schedules, determine, with customers, ongoing and forward requirements/priorities, undertake work in a self contained business unit, on non CC & I sites, servicing, installing, maintaining, repairing, and commissioning plant and equipment associated with the E & PCW portfolio and will be responsible for effectively time managing workloads, as part of a team and on your own initiative.
The Service Technicians produce good quality, effective, cost justified customer specific proposals at every opportunity for inclusion within the sections business plan and liaise with non CC & I customers to ensure all contract documents and reports are completed at the end of each job. You will be involved in sourcing and organising engineering equipment, spares, tools and contract labour to ensure tasks are completed to specification and within budget and will control and monitor expenditure on spares, materials, labour and personal expenses to keep within budget limits.
You will also implement annual safety improvement plan objectives in all areas of safety, including arising issues, new legislation and statutory/mandatory maintenance and inspection schedules, by auditing and monitoring. Within the frame work of the departmental safety improvement plan.
For these roles you must be prepared to travel and work (at short notice) in any part of the United Kingdom (including overnight stays) as circumstances dictate.
To succeed as Service Technician you should ideally be educated to a minimum HNC level or equivalent, with a clean driving licence, a confident, self motivated nature and good interpersonal and communication skills.

You must be able to work in a changing technical environment, should have practical and supervisory experience in maintenance engineering and must be creative, dynamic team player.
