Service Engineer South East
Hatfield, Hertfordshire

As one of the UK's leading distributors to the utility sector, our client offers a full range of pipeline products to the gas, water and electricity markets. They are currently looking to recruit a Service Engineer.
Reporting to the Workshop Manager, as a Service Engineer you will be responsible for repairing and servicing the company's pipe-jointing and other plant equipment for their own hire fleet and customers' own machinery.
Your responsibilities will include workshop repairs, driving duties and stores duties as appropriate to support the efficient running of the Service Centre.
Essential to your success as a Service Engineer will be your mechanical engineering or mechanics background. Along with your flexible disposition and ability to communicate well with others, you must also have a full (non-HGV) driving licence.
Ideally, but not essentially, you will also have the following:
- Forklift and a trailer towing licence
- Experience of electronics and hydraulics
- Working knowledge of servicing petrol/diesel generators
Although previous experience or an active interest in mechanics, electronics, electronics/component fault finding or hydraulics is required, more than anything, a positive can do' attitude and the desire to learn and develop are the main attributes our client requires.

The successful candidate will work 37.5 hours per week, although some overtime working will be required.
