As one of the UKs leading distributors to the utility sector, our client offers a full range of pipeline products to the gas, water and electricity markets. To help maintain their enviable position they are now looking to recruit a Service Engineer to join their team.
Reporting to the Workshop Manager, as a Service Engineer you will be responsible for repairing and servicing the companys pipe-jointing and other plant equipment for their own hire fleet and customers own machinery.
Your responsibilities will include workshop repairs, driving duties and stores duties as appropriate to support the efficient running of the Service Centre.
To succeed as a Service Engineer you must have the following:
- A mechanical engineering / mechanics background
- A flexible disposition and the ability to communicate well with others
- Full (non-HGV) driving licence
Ideally, but not essentially, you will also have the following:
- Forklift and a trailer towing licence
- Experience of electronics and hydraulics
- Working knowledge of servicing petrol/ diesel generators
Although previous experience or an active interest in mechanics, electronics, electronics/component fault finding or hydraulics is required, more than anything, a positive can do attitude and the desire to learn and develop are the main attributes our client requires.
