Hydrojet Engine manufacturer requires a service engineer to work from their East Grinstead location, and out in the field, commissioning, maintaining and repairing Marine Jet Propulsion Engines.
A Marine Engineering company specialising in Waterjet Propulsion, Hydraulic Steering Systems and Engine Controls has a requirement for a service Engineer / Technician.
The Service Engineer will report to the Service Manager in the execution of the following tasks :
1.Manufacturing/ assembly work
2.Repairs & testing
3. Electrical cable assembly
4.Running of the workshop in a clean and orderly manner
5.Assist with the commissioning of new systems on board vessels at boatyard or afloat.
6.Assist with warranty/ service work on board vessels at boatyard or afloat
7.Customer support by telephone.
8Occasional delivery/ collection of equipment
9.Maintenance of the HQ facility (i.e. building & services) and equipment e.g. Fork Lift truck etc.
10.Maintenance of records/ reports as required regarding all the above functions
The above tasks will be introduced in an appropriate time scale as the Service Engineer accumulates knowledge. However, as befits a small company, it is expected that you would be prepared to assist with non-listed tasks in other areas of the company if required.
The Service Engineer may be required to undertake occasional travel throughout the UK and maybe overseas for a period of a few days or on rare occasions, a few weeks.
Working knowledge of hydraulics and electrical systems.
Understanding of Hydraulic Schematics, Electrical Wiring Diagram & Engineering Drawings
"Hands on" approach to mechanical problems.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Relevant qualifications City & Guilds, ONC/HND, GSVQ etc.
Fit and healthy (the job involves some heavy work and some working in confined spaces when on board boats)
Motivated & energetic in your approach to the job
Clean driving licence
The flexibility to assist with other aspects of the business if required.
