Entec is a major environmental and engineering consultancy with over 800 staff and associates across a national network of offices. We have vacancies for committed, self-motivated, conscientious electrical designers to join our multi-discipline project engineering teams. Our Clients provide us with challenging projects, of an industrial nature, throughout the UK, and we need to extend our electrical engineering resources.
We are looking for experienced Electrical Designers to join our Water, Engineering and Energy teams to lead projects and technically develop talented teams.
As the lead electrical engineer, your duties will be wide ranging and include responsibility for:
• Creating electrical design drawings, such as single line diagrams, block interconnection diagrams, equipment layouts, cable support & routing drawings.
• Performing and checking cable calculations; both using software and by hand.
• Creation of equipment, load, instrumentation, etc. schedules from P&IDs.
• Checking MCC schematic diagram functionality.
• Performing DSEAR/ ATEX compliance survey's
• Assisting in factory and site acceptance testing
• Attending operational and construction sites in support of the above as required.
You will ideally have a BSc/ BEng/ MEng Electrical Engineering (electrical power focus) or equivalent or an electrical HND with extensive experience. Typically we would expect candidates to have around 7-10 years experience to have the skills and knowledge to be successful in this role, but depth and breadth rather than length of experience will be considered when making recruitment decisions.
