Senior Verification Engineer
Location: Dorset
Duration: Permanent
Rate/Salary: Up to £36k pa + bens
A large successful south coast aerospace company requires a Design Assurance/ Verification/ Qualification Engineer to carry out qualification/verification activities on a range of products.
Job Summary:
The Senior Design Verification Engineer is required to support programme qualification activities.
Key responsibilities
Development of qualification programme plans
Development of qualification test procedures
Performing a wide variety of tests including:
Environmental (Vibration, Shock, Climatic etc)
EMC / Electrical / Power Supplies etc
Strength testing
Functional Testing (Fuel / Hydraulics / Electrical Data Bus / Mechanical / Endurance)
Qualification test reporting
Programme problem solving
Development of test programme costs
Supervision of junior engineers
Design of test rigs and fixtures where appropriate
Customer Liaison and presentations
Experience required:
The Senior Qualification Engineer will be proactive and be able to manage multiple activities with the minimum of supervision. He/She should be conversant with defence standards and procedures for clearance of equipment on military aircraft
At least two years experience in a similar position within the defence or aerospace industry. Candidates with a general aerospace or defence engineering background will be considered
Membership of appropriate professional bodies would be an advantage
Qualifications required:
An honours degree in mechanical, electrical or aeronautical engineering is desirable. However HNC or similar will be considered with experience
