Description
Senior Test Engineer
We are supporting a global, diverse technology leader and the World's largest and most successful engine company. Our client leads the field in the design and manufacture of high-performance engines. Their continuous development programme, dedicated to furthering engine design allows them to offer one of the most advanced and comprehensive ranges of purpose-built diesel engines available today. Proving Test is a department involved in the integration of next generation engines into machines for performance and component validation and CPI issues on current product. Facilities include multi bay workshop high and low ambient testing and Generator Set evaluation.
The Role:
Working within a small group of engineers and technicians, the role is to manage the validation of new and current product in machine applications by developing and implementing test plans and highlight potential issues.
Key areas of responsibility encountered in the role are to:
Work with company groups to develop test plans for product approval
Raise Test Manager requests for the mechanical, electrical and electronic for the installation of test equipment and evaluation against set test procedures
Maintain and update the Local Work Instructions as appropriate
Develop learning on various data acquisition systems to meet test requirements
Issue necessary communications to customer representatives detailing the status of planned work, keeping accurate records test programs and record issues on the database
Work with design groups when necessary to develop and procure application related components
Requirements:
Degree or equivalent in relevant engineering (mechanical / electronic) discipline
Ability to wok on own initiative with good attention to details
Must be willing to learn electronic control systems techniques
Excellent interpersonal skills, working as part of a team
Proactive support to continuous improvement activities
Willing to travel to support field follow activities
