Senior Systems Architect / Team Leader
The Senior Systems Architect / Team Leader will join the System team as a technical specialist and team leader involved in research and development of the Evaluation System reference platforms and high power RF amplifiers incorporating Envelope Tracking technology.
The candidate will have significant experience in the implementation of complex algorithms within DSPs in telecommunications platforms, in particular baseband processing. You will ideally have a good understanding of DPD as well as an understanding of modern amplifier design and familiarity with efficiency enhancement and linearization techniques.
The successful candidate will demonstrate most of the following skills / experience:
Understanding of gain/efficiency/ linearity design trade-offs in the use of PAs in telecommunications.
Working knowledge of RF characteristics of modern modulation standards e.g. WCDMA / OFDM and an understanding of modern RF measurements and techniques, including measurement of efficiency.
Experience of cross functional system partitioning including understanding of performance constraints of RF, analogue, mixed signal and digital implementations.
Good knowledge of Physical Layer parameters of modern communications systems e.g. one or more of 3GPP, WCDMA, CDMA, CDMA2000, WiMAX, DVB-T/H, DAB.
Extensive algorithm development experience using Matlab
Embedded software development using C and C++.
Commercial RTOS or micro kernel (DSP-BIOS) experience.
A good understanding of formal software test methodology.
Experience with ARM, Power PC, ADI or TI processor families.
The successful candidate will have:
A strong mathematical background and a rigorous analytical approach to problem solving.
Fundamental understanding of communications principles and digital modulation schemes.
A demonstrated ability in adaptive filtering, parameter estimation, MLSE or predictive algorithms.
In addition, the candidate will:
Understand how to motivate teams and to get the best out of people.
Be a strong communicator with good problem solving skills.
Be quality orientated with an eye for detail.
You will be involved in the design, specification and implementation of advanced WCDMA and OFDM modulator systems. This will involve research into adaptive compensation of transmitter systems and is expected to result in both publication and patent filing opportunities.
