This consultancy has both a strong structural engineering division and civil engineering division, with broad expertise covering the whole of the design process in the majority of sectors within the construction industry. State of the art software is used in all aspects of design, from structural calculation/analysis/modelling software to highway/drainage design and calculation software.

At present they have a requirement for a SENIOR STRUCTURAL ENGINEER


Education and Training

Accredited degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
Chartered Membership of the Institution of Structural Engineers or the Institution of Civil Engineers
A demonstrable aspiration to develop; e.g. some or all of the following:
oevidence of continued formal training
oparticipation in Institution affairs
oresponsibility for training and mentoring
ogood record of continuing professional development


Experience / Knowledge

A minimum 5 years post chartered experience of building structures design
Experienced in the application and limitations of all common building materials
Experience in the design of foundations and earth retaining structures
A demonstrable ability to lead a design team
A working knowledge of building codes, standard texts and approved documents
Experienced in the use of design and analysis software


Communication

A well developed ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
